I'On Night of Lights 2007

Candlelight during the holidays is a symbol of hope, and here in I’On we have a way to share that hope, as well as real help, with our neighbors in need.

 I’On Night of Lights has become a favorite tradition in our neighborhood. More than $25,000 has been contributed to area human services charities as a result of this project, and this year our goal is raise at least $15,000.

 After three years of dedicated effort to create and coordinate this project, Lillian Schulten has asked the I’On Trust to take responsibility for ensuring that it continues, and our Board has agreed. Rita Bongiorno, Lori DeFilippo, and Gail Lauder volunteered to be our 2007 Coordinators.

 Proceeds from this year’s sale of the luminary kits will benefit Carolina Youth Development Center’s Charleston Emergency Shelter, Low Country Orphan Relief, My Sister’s House. The contributions decision was made by the Coordinators and confirmed by the I’On Trust Board Grants Committee. For more information about these organizations, CLICK HERE. All three agencies are involved with serving children and with interceding in times of emergency to provide the most basic human needs – shelter and security, food and clothing.

 We are appealing to you to purchase one or more luminary kits this year, and to light your luminaries on Sunday, December 2nd along with all your friends and neighbors in I’On. The lighting of the luminaries will complement the 2007 Holiday Tour of Homes in I’On, the annual fundraiser for the I’On Trust. 

 We hope you will join us in lighting up our neighborhood – it will be a beautiful sight, and we will all know we are offering help and hope to people who genuinely need it this holiday season!

 You should receive more information and an order form delivered to your I'On home by your Luminary Captain. Jf you prefer to order your luminary kits from our website, CLICK HERE. Please print and fill out the form, then return it to to 270 North Shelmore Boulevard (in basket by front door) no later than Tuesday, November 27th. Your kits will be delivered directly to your home between November 27th and December 1st, in time for assembly and lighting on December 2nd.
